Generation Alpha: New Age Cafe

Submitted for Regen Award Scholarship in 2020.

 

The task was to utilize a given site and building and revamp the space to a coffee shop for Generation Alpha: the most technological advanced generation yet! I wanted to create an “Illusion of Depth” within the space using contrast and waved pattern to simulate voice waves from face-to-face conversation. I also added the concept of “forcing reality” meaning that the space should appeal to Gen Alpha with technology but have reminders to communicate physically which was accomplished by using nature influence, posters and having a multitude of seating to encourage people to stay and enjoy company.

This floorplan was made from site analysis of an existing location within Nashville that was to be converted to a coffee shop. The parking lot influenced my entrance flow as well as alley set up for deliveries.
