Design Theory_Street Project
Vancouver, Canada
Utilizing components learned from the book Cities for People by Jan Gehl, this project assigned was about creating a street setting from given boundaries with the essence of a given city and even create a street bench. Vancouver is a place that has modern as well as rustic structures that is known for being an artistic district. The city is also very aware of walking and biking to add sustainability. I wanted this street to envelope those aspects and made it friendly for locals and tourists to explore. There is much art to search for and people can even hangout in an alley that is accessible with an outdoor seating venue to rest.
*Take a look at the rendered images as you will notice some people are placed in the images more than once so that it seems, you the viewer, are walking among the people and “following” them!
