I don’t believe that there is any rule in the game that cannot be broken.
— Dorothy Draper

  • There is no such thing as a definitive style—I believe in mix and matching to create a truly unique or eccentric individual space or environment. One that will be appreciated for standing out.

  • Finishes is a passion in itself— I personally am not afraid of color or using multiple patterns and textiles. The key is to maintain balance of color and finishes as they can make a space that much more impact.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHIES

  • RESILIENCE is defined as "the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness", which is formed over time from that creation and allowance of positivity. This principle is a core value for me and I want to share that perspective with others and be that 'uplifting spirit' as the world is already dark enough.

  • DETAIL is something that comes naturally to me (as seen in the imagery above). There is an appreciation to have such thoughts be provoked to not only look at the now, but the future and maybe add a spark to a space that creates interest—a sense of wonder even.

  • CONNECTION is defined as, "a relationship in which a person, thing or idea is linked or associated with something else". I try to have my designs give a sense of convergence to counteract that lack of social ties or have one feel that connection once more in a physical sense. The world can already be such a lonely place and even crowded, but either way connection is prevalent and is important to recognize what is in front of us.

  • ACCEPTANCE is beyond a sense of belonging, it's the ability to feel free and welcomed. Each person is different and should be celebrated for being so. In my designs I create this from the emotional standpoint from the experience given in spaces brought to life by people.

  • INTIMACY is counteracting with living among the mass of people, by allowing the need to have spaces of intimacy. Essentially, an escape to create sensation of privacy, but not seclusion. From that sensation, there is a focus on the individual and their movement and what they can experience. I allow within my designs the opportunity to allow a snapshot moment for those that enter the built environment to have that sense of intimacy even if it is inside another area as moments in time can be overwhelming and need to gather ourselves and reconvene.
